Renders as: Elder
Looks the name up (case-insensitive) against the current staff roster and shows their rank(s) via Template:Rank — same colour, tooltip and link as anywhere else that rank is mentioned. Someone holding two ranks at once (e.g. Guardian and Community Manager) shows both. An unrecognised name — including anyone who's since left staff — renders a visible error rather than silently showing nothing.
The roster itself lives in _staff_data.py (not on-wiki) — this template, each rank's own member list, and its current-holder count are all regenerated from that one source. To add, remove, or move someone, that file is what actually needs editing, not this template directly. Ranks is the wiki's own index of every rank and role.
