This is probably the most used feature in the Quest System along with Auto-complete and Quest Accept Reward for quest lines. Adding this objective will require you to choose a quest to act as the requirement. So to see or accept this quest, players will be required to have completed the selected quest at least one time in the past. You can add as much Quest Requirement as you wish.

Just like in the name, these objectives involve gathering, by different means, something. It can be any item imaginable. The item to be gathered can be selected either from your inventory (Ex. for lored items), or from a list of all existing items and blocks. This objective type is heavily customizable for where and how to gather items. The four different possible gathering objective requirements are : Mob drop, Location, Break block and Fishing. They can all be combined if wanted, since there is no limit on how many requirements you can add.

In either case, you will have to select the NPC to meet (pointing towards an NPC and selecting it in the meet objective page), set a dialogue (either by book or chat), which will appear upon speaking to the NPC, and a response to conclude the dialogue, which will be the button the players have to click in the dialogue book shown to them when talking to the NPC to complete this objective. It is also in this page that you can select the delivery options, which will require you to select an item to be delivered to the said NPC. Items selected this way will be stored temporarily in the soul-bound bag while one the quest, as they are considered separate from actual in-game items. ''Ya can't steal it''.

Quests rewards are probably what will motivate most players to actually do your quests. These will be what the quest will reward players with. For rewards who awards shards or specific items, you will have to add instances to your quest by feeding the quest with the physical copies of the items/shards rewarded. Instances are how many times this quest can be taken and completed, and so how many of the rewarded item/shard you gave to the quest. There are several customizable options for Quest Rewards available: Item reward, shards reward, prestige reward, Accept Quest reward, Orbs reward*, Crate reward*, Achievement reward*.

The Questing System is another of Loka's custom written plugins that allow players to create and manage quests with a wide variety of options and settings. These quests can be from a simple gather dirt objective to a full-on lore quest-line with instances and boss fights.

General Information

While the quest system allows for a lot of freedom, some basic criteria must be respected in order to publish a quest.

  1. Requires a Quest name (Must have a proper name)
  2. Requires a Quest Description (Must have a description)
  3. Must have at least one Quest Objective and all the elements for the objective(s) must be respected*.
  4. The quest must be assigned to either a quest giver NPC or sign*.

Once all these are set up, the quest will change it's status from Not Ready to Hidden. You can then publish the quest when you are ready by Shift-clicking the emerald block. Once published, it can be toggled back Hidden with Shift-click if you need to edit it or for whatever else reason. While hidden, players won't be able to see or accept the quest as shown on the image on the right.

Commands

We can access the different GUIs related to the quest system using simple commands starting with the /q prefix:

  • /q or /q l - Display a list of your current quests in progress
  • /q create - Create a new quest
  • /q e - Edit the quests you have created
  • /q eo - Edit official quests (Only for PvE Team members)

Quest name

Quest names are what will be displayed on the top of the menu and as the name of this quest. This option is the simplest to understand and is a necessary step to publish a quest. You can rename your quest at any time.

Click the paper to rename the quest.

Quest Description and Summary

The Quest Description will be the first text a player will see when first starting the quest. It will also be displayed when hovering the quest in /q menu by default. It's a good thing to write the starting dialog there when starting a new quest.

The quest summary (accessible inside the quest description page) will be what is displayed when hovering the quest in /q menu. Like the in the name, it is intended to be a short summary and give basic information for the quest.

Can be set through either chat (max of 256 characters), or set a book as the description (Useful for longer texts, because it can be formatted correctly).

Click to access edit the quest description, or Right-Click to preview it.

Quest Requirements

Requirements are prerequisite for quests. In order for players to be able to see and accept your quest they have to meet the selected requirements of the said quests. Note that Requirement are not among the necessary options to publish a quest, so you can create quests that have no requirements at all. For now there are only two types of quest requirements; Prestige requirements and Quest requirements.

Click to add a requirement.

Prestige requirement :

When adding this requirement, you will be asked to input an amount of prestige in chat. Having a prestige requirements means that in order to see or accept the quest players will have to meet this minimum prestige amount set by through requirement. This is a Town Quest only feature, since prestige is unique to every town.

Shift-click to delete this requirement.

Quest requirement :

This is probably the most used feature in the Quest System along with Auto-complete and Quest Accept Reward for quest lines. Adding this objective will require you to choose a quest to act as the requirement. So to see or accept this quest, players will be required to have completed the selected quest at least one time in the past. You can add as much Quest Requirement as you wish.

Shift-click to delete this requirement.

Quest Objectives

Objectives are the most customizable settings in the quest system. They are what you will have to complete in order to finish the quest. Once all the objectives are done, the quest will be completed. All objectives will be displayed separately from each others on the quest preview in the /q menu and all of the selected objectives can be viewed on the first row at the top of the menu in the objective page (As shown on this image). You can have as many objectives as you wish for the same quest (even of the same sort if wanted).

Click on the corresponding option to add it as an objective to the quest.

There are four types of objectives:

  • ⚒ Gathering Objectives
  • ←↕→ Location Objectives
  • ➳ Hunting Objectives
  • ⎘ Misc. Objective

⚒ Gathering Objectives

Just like in the name, these objectives involve gathering, by different means, something. It can be any item imaginable. The item to be gathered can be selected either from your inventory (Ex. for lored items), or from a list of all existing items and blocks. This objective type is heavily customizable for where and how to gather items. The four different possible gathering objective requirements are : Mob drop, Location, Break block and Fishing. They can all be combined if wanted, since there is no limit on how many requirements you can add.

Mob Drop - Gathering Requirement :

You can select which types of mob will drop this item, where does the mob has to be to drop the item (either worlds or areas) and how many of this item will the mob drop when killed. You can also select multiple mobs with different parameters for the same objective. This objective corresponds to the skeleton head in the objective editing page.

Click to to edit the regional requirements, Right-click to change how many of the item will the mob drop and Shift-click to remove the requirement.

This FX will be the colour of the chosen rarity. This objective corresponds to the emerald in the objective editing page.

It can be any existing Minecraft block, including saplings, flower pots, carpets, signs, etc. Like in the previous requirements, you can also choose how much of the needed item this block will drop and where does the block has to be to drop the item upon being broken (worlds or areas). This objective corresponds to the stone bricks in the objective editing page.

Click to edit regional requirements, Right-click to change how many of the item will drop, and Shift-click to remove this requirement.

Fishing - Gathering Requirement :
