Balak is a hostile, volcanic continent dominated by a huge volcano at its centre, ringed by deserts, burnt forests, bone graveyards, rugged grasslands, and fields of lava. Unlike Ascalon, Kalros, and Garama, Balak has no towns of its own — it exists purely as a battleground for conquest, fought over by the capitals of the three main continents.

Conquest

Only the reigning capital of Kalros, Garama, or Ascalon may fight for territory on Balak. Strength is earned by seizing neutral tiles or defeating rival towns and alliances already holding ground there. Whichever town leads in strength on Balak when truce begins, on the last Sunday of the month, becomes World Capital for the following cycle — gaining extra territory allowances and a choice of capital-wide policies until the title changes hands again.

Once a town or alliance locks in to fight on Balak for a given cycle, they cannot switch to fight on Rivina instead until the next one.

Buff Tiles

Balak has several tiles that grant buffs to whoever holds them:

  • Industries produce brewing materials
  • Neutral mobs are neutral to you on your continent
  • Ancient Ingots fully repair durability
  • 2x chance of beheading an enemy on your continent; ender pearls have a 50% chance of being consumed
  • Monsters have a 50% chance of dropping double loot
  • Any armor, weapon, or tool that breaks is sent to your Escrow with 1 durability instead of being lost
